David Paul Kay - Frida
Limited edition of 50 prints
Unframed: 47" x 30"
Framed: 55" x 38"
David combines traditional uses of positive and negative space with his linear applications of form to create figurative drawings. Despite a lack of facial detail, this vibrantly intricate depiction of Frida Kahlo mirrors her own energetic artistic attitude towards self-portraiture.
David Paul Kay is a New York City-based self-taught artist and muralist. His art practice is informed by his upbringing in the former Republic of Georgia and the tension between the ideals of the former Soviet Union and Western democracy. In 2008, David fled from conflict-ridden Georgia to New York, where he was inspired by the influential works of Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
