Work by Margaret Evangeline
is New York City-based painter, sculptor and installation artist specializing in mixed media. Evangeline's metal works are punctured by gunshots, which connect her life in contemporary art to that of her ancestral lineage of explorers, traders and gunsmiths, while her paintings are defined by the frenetic webs of mark-making that extend across the canvas.
Her work is in the collections of University of New Mexico Art Museum, New Orleans Museum of Art, Fields Sculpture Park in New York, and the Georgia Museum of Art. She was the first female recipient of an MFA in Fine Arts from the University of New Orleans.
