NATE ETHIER'S drawing on traditions of formal and pop abstraction, Nate Ethier’s geometric abstractions celebrate both the bucolic and the post-industrial world. The exchange of modular structures through synchronicity and symmetry is the bedrock of the work, while rock and roll, the rolling surf, and poetry whisper in the background. Creating compositions that allow for the optical emphasis to alternate and reverberate with intensity and grace, the mechanics of Ethier’s paintings function as perpetual visual motion machines. Ethier holds an MFA in Painting from the Boston University College of Fine Arts and lives and works in New York City. Recent solo exhibitions include “Speak About the Ocean” at Nancy Margolis Gallery and “Wilderness” at LMAKgallery. Nate is represented by LMAKgallery in New York. Published by Davis Editions
